Here is a project that I did last year. I designed a character with a blue-collar job 20 years into the furute. In the future I created, nothing has really changed except the weather (is very cold) and technology (more advanced).

Recent Work + WIP

I haven't posted in a while because I have been busy with school. Here is some of the work I have done this semester:

Assignment: Create a Google doodle about an event that took place in 1913. I did my doodle about Cracker Jacks because they began putting prizes in the boxes in this year.

Assignment: tell the story of a place in a sequence. I chose a fun park that is in my city. I decided to tell the story of the experience of the fun park through levels of a video game. Each level tells you about the different things you can do.

Assignment: Take a nursery rhyme and change it into a crime story and design a book cover for the story while including the villain of the story. I started with the rhyme "There was an old woman who lived under a hill" and my story was about the old woman luring people in with her pies to ultimately kill them. 

Assignment: Illustrate the story "Alice in Wonderland" with 8 full page spreads, 4 of which have to include pop ups. I am making my book look like cut paper but this is really digital. I scanned in paper, added shadows, and cut out shapes in Photoshop. This is what I have done so far; it's the part where she follows the rabbit into wonderland.

This is digital, and I made a pattern based on G-dragon's videos from his comeback album "One of a Kind". The glasses are ones he wore in "One of a Kind", he had a diamond tattoo in "That XX", and I put in crayons for "Crayon".

Works in Progress

Here are some things that I am in the middle of working on. The first one was from last year, and I went back and worked on the face more. The other one I started this past summer.

Speedpaintings

A couple of months ago I joined a blog called 30-minute Speedpaint so I could keep up with doing speedpaintings. Here are the ones I have done so far:

Lookbook

I started going to a website called lookbook.nu. I like seeing the types of looks that people can create. Here is a quick sketch of one look that I saw.

I kept this one looser in order to keep myself drawing. I may keep doing these when I cannot figure out what to draw.

Random Sketches + Progress

The past two weeks have been pretty slow for me in terms of drawing. I have been having trouble figuring out what to draw so I have been doing quick sketches about my life.

Last week I killed a fly and felt like a ninja. Then I ate cheese puffs.

I have also been working on a poster. In the studies I am figuring out composition and colors.

I also began working on this piece that I started a year ago. It is what I generally look like during the summer and is completely relevant a year later.

Nerd

This was initially going to be a speed painting but that did not happen. It actually hasn't taken as long as other things. I am not sure which version works better. 

I thought the second one looked empty on the right so I cropped it

Patterns

Here are some patterns that I have been working on. I find that I do not use green that often so I wanted to work with it more

Revised

I changed added some textures and changed some colors. I like this version better

Skater

Here is the finished version of the skater. I ended up going with a darker background. I am still not sure if I want to do something else with it but for now I will call it finished

I finished this last week and now I am able to post it now that I have Internet service again

Better

I need to get better with giving my posts titles. This is something that I have been working on, painting in a different style. The shapes at the bottom are me trying to decide on colors for the shoes

Seungri Finished

At last here is the finished version of Seungri from Bigbang. It was initially going to be a speed painting but I squashed that idea fairly fast. I did have fun though
